Scholastic Book Fairs

OK, who has memories of the Scholastic book fair? Did it come to your school? What did you pick out?

I remember they sold sticker books, which I would always pick out... and I indelibly recall the edition of Call of the Wild I chose one year which I read approximately 3746287364 times. I hope that it is in my parents' attic and has not been eaten by silverfish.

EDIT: Baylake Pines. OH the MEMORIES! Holy shit... Mrs. Columbus still teaches first grade. Her husband's name was... wait for it... Christopher!

It came to my school every year. I pretty much never got anything, mostly because I didn't bring the memos home from school and thus never had any money. I know the first year I didn't realize it wasn't the same as the library and took a million books up to the counter, only to be told they weren't free. Embarrassing! I was also way ahead of my grade in reading and the book fairs were mostly "baby books" anyway.

I do remember getting a book about kittens when I was in, oh, second grade. My mother was annoyed because it was a picture book and way too young for me, but hey! kittens!
