Scholastic Book Fairs

OK, who has memories of the Scholastic book fair? Did it come to your school? What did you pick out?

I remember they sold sticker books, which I would always pick out... and I indelibly recall the edition of Call of the Wild I chose one year which I read approximately 3746287364 times. I hope that it is in my parents' attic and has not been eaten by silverfish.

EDIT: Baylake Pines. OH the MEMORIES! Holy shit... Mrs. Columbus still teaches first grade. Her husband's name was... wait for it... Christopher!

We had yearly book fairs. Since we also did the mentioned orders from the catalogs (yay, piles of books) then they were probably by Scholastic as well. They also collected used books though and sold those as well and I got some great stuff out of that. Tom Swift Jr. was quite the hoot.

I loved the book fairs! We didn't always have enough money for me to get something, but my mom really tried. I got my first copy of A Little Princess that way. And the Three Investigators! OMG! I loved those!

The day the books came in was always v v v exciting. :)
