Re: foo-foo nature soap!
Does the Dr. Bronner's dry your face out at all? I tried using the tea tree castile soap on my face a while back and the skin on my face felt as tight as a drum.

Arbonne, which I wanted to try because it is vegan, but given the price, I was a little underwhelmed. When it runs out, I will probably switch back to Aveda or something from the WholeFoods body care aisle. :/

I have some custom jobby I got at a place in Portland. but I feel like I should buy something that wouldn't have to travel 3,000 miles... it would be nice if I could find local custom jobbys!

you know, just the other day i had the strongest urge to go down to It's a Beautiful Day in college park. too bad it's been gone for years. i'd go in there and flash back to the late '60s, man, smelling the patchouli and fingering the tie-dyed cloth.

that said, hippie wannabe-ism aside, i use Clinique mild facial soap and have since 1975. :)

I wasn't excited about the scents they had at the sheep & wool fest, but I was also tired and had been outside all day.

I don't use bar soap on my face, usually, but whenever I've sniffed Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap, I've considered it, just because it smells so refreshing.

I don't think it has any scrubbies incorporated in it though, so it may not be what you're looking for.

The same company makes a Citrus Spice soap that is super scrubby. It's marketed for the body, not the face, but whatever floats your soap! I've used it for body, and found it pleasant.

Thoroughly Clean Face Wash. You can get it at most health food places. I switched over from ProActiv about 6 weeks ago, and it is doing wonders for my face.

I use that, too; my face likes it. It also has the bonus of being very inexpensive (I got the giganzo 32-oz bottle; it was like $12).

Sorry to post again!! I'm remembering just now that one of my co-workers told me her dermatologist recommends Cetaphil as one of the most gentle commercial cleansers out there.

These might even be the soaps that you got, which means you DO need to come back to Portland. Ha.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I use fresh's shea butter bar soap. (I prefer the orange chocolate) Sometimes I use their clay soap. Sometimes I use kiehl's "milk, honey, and almond scrub"

I tend to go shopping at Blue Mercury in Dupont or Georgetown. I'm not a girly girl by nature, but lately I've been amusing myself with soap products.

I'm not either - I prior to hearing that maybe I shouldn't be so harsh on my face by just using my plain old soap bar on it, All I used for everything was a... plain old soap bar. :) I forgot about Keihl's I definitely want to check that out.
