And if you browse around, B, you might run into this nugget of wisdom. Especially the second bullet point. :)

I'm not sure how these two things go together:

Because the exterior walls are coated with solid cedar wood siding and not just thin plastic siding, the Mobile Hermitage can provide a place of quiet solitude in the midst of even more noisy environments. [...] The walls contain thick acoustic/thermal insulation for even more noise dampening.

and

This spectacular light show is accompanied by nature sounds that are amplified so that being inside the Mobile Hermitage is like being inside a sophisticated multi-chamber speaker system that amplifies the chorus of singing birds welcoming the evening who are joined by crickets chirping shortly after sunset. Light waves and sound waves move freely throughout the Mobile Hermitage due to the minimalist and utilitarian use of surface space.

Still, I'm really glad you keep posting tiny house links. We need to hang out and talk about our future tiny house plans. :)

Aww, back pain. The human back is so totally poorly designed for modern life. Are the stretches helping?

I'm sorry you can't make my Chili Cook-off. :(

OMG!!! Thanks so much for sharing ! I sent the first video to my brother with "me in 20 years" as the subject - he mentioned to the parents over break that I was likely to be living in a tiny house in someone else's backyard someday! The one burner stove!!! *dies*

I was hoping that she'd park it in the suburb, you know, like buy a plot of land and have all of those regular houses right next door. These houses are so adorable! And they make me so happy!!! Do you think there are neighborhoods in the south Katrina-areas that we can visit yet? I think this calls for a road-trip!

It seems like the northeast and northwest are where people are building their tiny house communes! We should find one, wherever, and take a trip to it!

If nothing else, reading all these sites helps me appreciate what I have so much, and makes me want to make the best possible use of space in my own living space. I have a stronger realization of how necessary or even desired some things are.

I feel the same way! I've given a small amount of stuff to the goodwill and recycled a little and even given away some of my old study stuff since I've gotten into the tiny house thing and started trying to "downsize" my clutter. I have a way to go before my apartment isn't a disaster, though, and even then it would take a while to get down to tiny house size - my apartment is 750 square feet!

We will definitely go on a tiny house community pilgrimage!
