666 is no longer alone,
He's getting out the marrow in your back bone,
And the seven trumpets blowing sweet rock and roll,
Gonna blow right down inside your soul.
Pythagoras with the looking glass reflects the full moon,
In blood, he's writing the lyrics of a brand new tune.

did i ever mention i saw genesis live? okay, so it was the we can't dance tour, it was at cleveland municipal stadium, and i only went because my sister couldn't drive whereas i could and so my ticket was free. the thing i remember most is that the cleveland cavs were in the playoffs that year or something, because every now and again all the people crammed in the stairwell would start chanting, "cavs! cavs! cavs!" and stomping their feet enough to make the stairs quake. i was saying "da bulls, da bulls, da bulls" like the snl sketch with chris farley as the polish sausage-eating bears super fan, and my concertgoing companions were afraid i was about to get their asses kicked.

true story.

i am extraordinarily envious. about the genesis part, not about the obnoxious sportsfans part. so how was the concert itself?? :)

not being much of a fan, i only really remember it being very concerty with lights and music and stuff. phil collins was on stage and some other people, too, and there were other people were clapping and screaming. i remember thinking we sure were far from the stage (cleveland municipal stadium was BIG) and watching the band all walk together during the song "i can't dance." i think we might have brought binoculars.

i think i would have enjoyed it more if they let phil sing "sussudio" and "easy lover" or if they brought out peter gabriel for a few tunes in some crazy bananas in pajamas getup. :D
