1. From the ashes of the Los Panchos, a phoenix has risen, and its name is Los Cabos. And it is much nicer inside and has THE CHEESE DIP. And mariachi bands on thursday nights. Thus, I officially plug it!

2. Currently reading: Both In Cold Blood (the lunchtime book) and The Beast Reawakens (the bedtime book) which I'd like to note is not a little bit terrifying. Currently listening to: Tommy, the Who.

3. Who likes board games? Which is your favorite?

Would you come to my house to play board games if I ever managed to get around to hosting?

1. Mmm... cheese dip... the evil that is so good...

2. After seeing Capote earlier this week, I don't know if I could bring my self to read In Cold Blood. It at least doesn't sound like relaxing lunchtime reading.

3. Board games are great! Check out a fairly recent import from Germany called Transamerica (about trains, not transexuals). Or browse http://www.funagain.com for more games than you'll ever have time to play.

1. No one can deny the lure of the cheese dip!

2. It was seeing the movie that made me want to re-read it. It is such an incredibly brilliant book, while it may not be relaxing, it is worthwhile. I highly recommend it! I think you have to have a little taste for the macabre though. :-/

3. Thanks for the link I will check it out! I really want to find one game that jsciv used to bring to game days, a german one called "Vas Sticht".

Love the board games!! Parcheesi holds a special place, I'll play cuthroat Scrabble anyday, and just about anythign you put in front of me I'll try... :D

There was a game from my early years tthat my Nana had that I wish I knew what it was... Nobody has ever heard of it when I've asked... Do you recognise it?

It was like Life in some ways. You had to collect points/cards in different realms - happiness, money, love... (others). Each section of the board had it's own spinner. ??

I like board games! Scrabble, cranium, trivial pursuit, 25 words or less, tikal and um, others. I tend to shy away from super strategy games cause I'm not much of a think 5 turns ahead kind of girl :)

I'll let you know if we manage to have a board games night. :)

I've never heard of 25 words or less or Tikal!

I, too, love board games. Clue, Othello, Zombies, Scrabble, Axis and Allies, Cosmic Encounter, etc., etc.

Mar. 3rd, 2006 04:51 pm (UTC)
I've only ever played Axis & Allies on the computer. :o

Is the zombie game the one with 8 million little zombies on the board with different parts you can configure? Because that one looked kind of tiresome to me.

Adore board games. Othello, Parcheesi, backgammon, Clue, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Cranium (though I mainly like the part that's like pictionary)...oh. But NO Monopoly. God I hate that game, and it takes forever.

I have a Simpsons edition of Clue that I've never actually played! (It was a gift...when and from whom, I have no idea!)

Hee, they sell Win, Lose, or Draw, the boardgame version!

I cannot begin to adequately answer the boardgame question. You know that I love them, but my favorite really depends on who I'm playing with. For example, I love Settlers of Catan but there are people I don't care to play it with, and there are people that if I'm playing with we would prefer to play something more "dense".

I will comment and answer specifics, but just one? Can't do it! :)
