keep it dark

This weekend angela_la_la visited. We hung out and made fried chicken and chatted. She helped me learn to turn a heel, and therefore I picked up a knitting project I had dropped maybe three or so years ago. Angela is also an accomplished artist and I don't think I had really known that about her.

I had to shoo her and teh J00 out of the house so we could run off to the Taste of Morocco to celebrate booyeah's birthday. And we did. With five courses and a middle eastern dancer! The dancer thought MsT and I looked like cooperative targets and so would come by and encourage us to try her zils and dance with her, but I was feeling shy. MsT was zillin' it up though. It was so loud that it was hard to talk with people, so I just focused on how freaking incredible the hummus was. We retired to the birthday honoree's residence and while the temperature plummeted outside I enjoyed some serious girl talk. Turns out I may be more OCD than I thought.

We were up terribly late and I shoved Jack out of bed in the morning so that we could go help madamjolie and her s.o. move. That took about all day but I had a really good time and met lots of nice people. And there were meatballs and baked ziti to soothe us. It's refreshing that it didn't even feel weird to show up and help someone I've never met in person. Hail livejournal!! Once we got home we fried more chicken and then just about collapsed. Watched some MST3K and House episodes. I can't say I'm warming up to it, mostly because of the oogy medical scenes. I think I just hate hospitals that much. Can there be a show where Hugh Laurie plays an asshole college professor instead?

Monday I went to work but cut out early to see Capote at the old greenbelt with salami_salome and examorata. Then we had chinese and psychoanalyzed. It ruled.

I basically unintentionally went one week without playing WoW. Might make up for that this week, except I have huge amounts of repetitive monotonous drumming practice to get in.

Today on 94.7's 30 years in 30 days: 1986. I so wish you could listen online. They played "So" during lunch as the "significant album of 1986" and I ate in the car so I could hear it actually getting played end to end on the radio. It was blissful. I need to take a radio to work tomorrow and see if I can get the station to come in; 1987 was a big year in music for me. *sigh*

I really need to reassess all my icons.
