excel question

Dear Excel gurus,

I have this spreadsheet that has conditional formatting applied to it. It's a conditional formatting formula that says basically if the date for that row matches today's date bold the text. What I want to do is copy all the numbers with the formatting applied to another sheet. I no longer need the formula, I just need that sheet of numbers with those formats already applied. Is that possible?

TIA
kim (who will write all about her fabulous philly weekend soon, she hopes)

How about sorting by the date field, and copying the rows in question?

doesn't bring the formats over too, sadly.

How about sorting, then deleting the surrounding data?

Have you tried using "paste special" and selecting "values and number formats" ?

Great minds. :) (I just posted the exact same idea at the same moment)

doesn't work. only brings along the "number" formats i.e. how many decimal places and stuff. not the font formats.

Use "paste special"? I think you can opt to paste values & conditional formatting.

i see what it's doing now. it's copying the conditions and since nothing qualifies once i move the numbers to a new sheet, none of the numbers get bolded. i really just wanted the bold to copy over and not the conditions. sorry if i wasn't clear.

Why not just copy it over as-is, and then change the formula so that it uses an actual hardcoded value for today's date, instead of whatever the function is that gets today's date? That would then cause things that needed to be bolded to be bolded. Random thought, just in case Josh's thang above doesn't do it.

the formula already uses a hard-coded value for today's date... is that my problem? I don't want the formula in the target sheet at all. just the formatting. (And the target sheet is actually 18 target sheets, hence not wanting to have to recode the formula 18 times)
