This weekend we moved msteleute and necrocannibal into their new place, which is so ready for some being lived in, and I love their backyard! Also made level 40 and still saving up for a mount. Also celebrated fine birthdaying with cheese and booze and sadly ended up grumping out early with major cramps. The red tide, it knows not of birthdays, despite its role in them. Today I worked a 12 hour day. It didn't suck as much as it could have. Must. Maintain. Positive. Attitude. Tomorrow I have to work on training materials AND tackle something in photoshop which I have no idea how to tackle AND some reports and blah blah blah. Rough week, rough waters ahead. Dad tells me he's taking the cat to the vet and he's feeling unhopeful. I HAVE TO get down to Norfolk soon. Despite all this negative talking, I am feeling okay, and tonight spent my few restful hours watching "Lost Treasures of Broadway" which despite obvious non-attention to quality was joyous in its use of old Tony awards and showed me Patti LuPone's fillings. Also, I did not know Twiggy could tap dance. OK, time for bed.

1) Total volume of music files on my computer?
2624 songs, 7 days, 10.31 Gig. Pretty humble from what I've seen elsewhere. Also not representative of how much I own, which is alot more.

2) The last CD I bought was...
(dude! tartedelune! iron & wine was almost my answer!)
Sweeney Todd (I know you're all shocked) and the soundtrack to Life Aquatic. I bought the latter for "Ping Island/Lightning Rescue Op" because YEAH!!!

3) Song playing right now:
Since I wasn't listening to anything right this second, the Itunes "Party Shuffle" gives us... "Living in a Box" by Living in a Box, from the album, *snicker*, Living in a Box.

4) Five songs that I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me:

ABBA - Super Trouper - I totally take a wrong meaning from this song. The singer is totally dependent on the dude she's singing about but I take this message of power from it.

Afro Celt Sound System - Life Begin Again - It's just powerful for me. It makes me feel all spiritual and I am about the least spiritual person you know.

Badly Drawn Boy - Once Around the Block - There is a memory, and a thing, and, um, yeah.

Cat Stevens - Moonshadow - I've had this song in my "playlist" since forever. I remember listening to my dad's Teaser and the Firecat cassette in rapture at a very, very young age. Now that I mention it, I remember listening to dad's ABBA too...

Connie Dover - Somebody - This song is the first on a cd that, no matter how shitty life is and how miserable I am, always lulls me to sleep when I need it most.

Those are just the first five I noticed scanning alphabetically. Since it's 12:08 and all.

Which 5 people are you passing this baton to, and why?

I pass it to bizarrojack, because unless I tell him he might not notice. Also I am mean. I pass it to alainnduil, my karaoke cohort. I pass it to tzel, who should not feel pressured to answer until she's got time to relax. ;) I pass it to geniealisa and keryx, my oldest friends on this crazy space.

Sorry to hear about the kitty. I hope things work out for the best.

Mr Kitty ate his breakfast this AM so maybe things are looking up. He also took the left arm off of one of the vet techs so I guess his attitude is still OK. He hasn't been to the vet since 99 so I assume this will be a major fortune. They can't get over all his toes and I think that they may charge more for trimming his nails. Our office went from free coffee to a vending machine. Now it costs and the coffee sucks. This is a real disaster. I still do ABBA and Cat Stevens and Gordon Lightfoot and Tom Rush via my laptop at work.

Mr. is back home from the vet. Seems like he has some bad teeth but other than that no easily detectable faults. We are awaiting the results of blood tests in order to decide on how to proceed with repairs. Remember the old adage "When the repair cost exceeds the replacement cost........." And we all know what the replacement cost on a cat is.
