I'm going. But I don't think fairestcat and I are going with a group, so if you have an idea of group things, that would be very cool.

Neat! I plan to make a big post later about plans, because at this point I'm so confused with all the different people going in different directions. It'll be filtered, though, but I can certainly add her to the filter!!

I have a handmade drum that I just adore...bought it at a flea market, and its got the most awesome sound. I really need to get back into the drumming scene again..I miss it. :)

I had a nice drum, but it broke when I moved last time. My best friend got it for me. :(

What is this drumming scene of which you speak?

Well, I've never been a big part of it, but from a spiritual point of view, drumming is very big. do a search onlien for local drum circles and stuff..I'm sure down in MD there's got to be something floating around.

A drum circle is just a bunch of people getting together and jamming with drums. Sometimes its for a purpose...like full moon rituals, or drumming for peace, or something like that. Generally, people bring whatever they have that makes noise--bongos, djembes, rattles, tambourines, etc. It can be a lot of fun and very mesmerizing. The great thing about drumming is you don't really have to be a pro at it for it to sound good. I fyou have any kind of rhythm in you at all, its all good. And even if you don't. :)

Are you familiar with Womongathering? Its a yearly retreat held in upstate Pennsylvania, ALL women. Not a man in sight for 4 days. ;) All sorts of spiritually minded individuals come for 4 days in june and do drumming, yoga, swimming, rituals, all sorts of indoor and outdoor activities. http://www.womongathering.com I went two years ago, and had a blast, and I'm definitely going this year. Check it out.

The hoodie says "BULLDOGS" along the bottom, across your ass? (Geniune question not witty quip)

I'm unlikely to go but I'd be honored to read about it anyway, if that works for you ... if not, I can dig it.

I think the "why" is brilliance. Everyone likes looking at butts. Passersby might not see what specifically your hoodie says, while checking you out, but rather just that there's writing on it, were the slogan across the shoulder-blades. Also there's not the potential awkwardness of your eyes interfering with the same phenomenon, that exists when the slogan is emblazoned on the breast. In addition, if you happened to, as I used to, have hair that covers your mid-back, the message is still there. Finally, it's "win-win," in that the writing draws additional attention to one's ass, which is nearly always a good thing - and if not, that's what Judo and/or mace is for. =D
