You can bet I will make an entry about all the lurid details of my weekend. But for now, I'll just say that the Laurel Thrift has been good to me. I went in seeking a small bookcase for next to my bed, and left with two new, awesome chairs. This means that something has to go, of course. So if you need a unstainable armchair (it's upholstered in this weird blue vinyl that's kind of like a tablecloth) you can have it for free. If you're nearby, I might even deliver. Good for people with kids who like to color on things.

'my butt deserves vinyl and chrome'

For some reason I just find this hilarious.

It's a really nice comfy chair! And unstainable! But yeah, doesn't fit - stylewise or in the sense that I simply don't have room.

Those are two very nice scores. I've got to ask Joe take me there.

I have been there a bunch of times and found nothing, nada, zip - it's one of those things where you just have to drop by from time to time. :)

Nifty thrifty
The thrift store on 198 is my mecca, though furniture wise it tends to be a bit of a dud. I just am a half price junkie (Tues. & Thurs. evenings, all day Sunday). Have you been to the big Salvation Army on Kennelworth, just this side of the DC line? It's a furniture thrillseekers heaven. The one in Jessup isn't bad either, just pricey.

Re: Nifty thrifty
I usually go to Village Thrift (I believe that's the one on 198) for clothes. Actually for furniture I usually like to check out the Consignment Furniture Gallery on Sunnyside just off of Kenilworth - but the only reason I ended up at the thrift store was that it is apparently closed on Mondays. Why do things close on mondays? I will never know. It's the one day I can go places.

Anyhoo, I have never been to that Salvation Army, I have been to the one in Jessup but it seemed like the prices were higher.
