there are fucking bugs in my cupboards. i have thrown out everything but canned goods, salt, and spices which god, i really don't want to have to fuck with those and there didn't seem to be anything in them and man they are expensive to replace. but the bugs are still in there. so i'm keeping my cereal and triscuits on the table in the dining room for now. i went to the grocery store and looked but there was nothing marked "put this in your cupboards to kill we-evil-ly things"

if it isn't one thing it's another.

Ick, I went through this a few years ago. Now people wonder why I have all of my pasta, and cereal in special airtight tuperware containers.

Yeah- this is why I *still* store most of my dry goods in the freezer. [Happily, pie crusts are actually better when made with cold flour- they bake flakier].

I last got bugs when I bought an infested bag of rice. :/ There's usually no way to know until it is Too Late. Depending on what sort of bugs you have, gempler's http://www.gemplers.com sells pheromone lures and sticky traps.

I think it's a fall thing...? The ants have been pretty subdued over the summer, but they really went nuts just the past week or so. Fortunately I have scant little food in the house for them to snack on. Still, I took my honey and syrup and put them on top of the fridge, far up and away from any ant activity. I'd bought 'keeel ant thingies' a couple weeks ago... I have to keep a regular stock. Such is life in an older house surrounded by thick greenery.

It might not be anything you are doing. I know when I lived in apartments, it was more often than not the guys living next to me. I don't miss living in apartments. now if thre is a bug problem, I know who to blame. =)

I hate bugs.

A very wet summer and decreasing temperatures are making bugs more of a problem in my apartment building. I have found two roaches (one live, one dead) in my apartment, which is two more than I've seen in the entire three years up to this month.

Call your building management and request an exterminator visit; I did at my place and they got somebody in a week later.
