tzel took me out for my birthday. alaskan snow crab legs. so good. i'm sure they are one of the creatures of the sea which was listed under "red alert - don't eat these" in the scientific american i saw the other day. for two people who live around the corner from each other, we sure do see each other hardly at all. it's a phase, i'm sure.

would it be too much to ask for work to provide me with one legal pad a month? i don't really ask for too much, do i?

i drive, i eat, i work, i eat, i drive, i eat, i sleep. wash, rinse, repeat.

i haven't ever gone there (not since it was a Dead Lobster, years ago). i'm unfortunately allergic to crab, and i don't eat ribs. it's a good place, though? do they feature anything besides, uhm, crab and ribs? [g] my husband does like ribs.

hrm... i haven't even ever had their ribs, heh heh. :)

something tells me it's not worth going if you're not into shellfish or ribs. our original intent was to go to sapphire, but they are closed on mondays. :P

From http://www.mbayaq.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/sfw_regional.asp :

Crabs are caught in traps, a method considered eco-friendly because fishermen can release undersized crabs and other "bycatch" unharmed. Crab populations vary widely year to year, as the survival of young crabs depends on favorable conditions of water and weather. Along the U.S. West Coast, Dungeness crabs are protected by a well-crafted set of management regulations: fishermen may keep only mature male crabs and must release all females to maintain the population. Alaska's snow and king crab fisheries are well-managed, but the crabs are recovering from past overfishing and from several years where few young crabs survived.

The only crabs they listed under red alert were imported King Crab.

Happy Birthday!

<< for two people who live around the corner from each other, we sure do see each other hardly at all. it's a phase, i'm sure. >>

Greg looks at the ceiling and does an innocent sounding whistle, hoping that no one does the math of:

((Telf_Job * Telf_Stress) + Greg / (Telf_Friends_Hectic_Lives) = (Hardly_Any_Time_For_Telf_Friends)

Please know that I strive to not be "that guy" who tries to take every free moment in his partner's life.

If it's any consolation, my non-fencing friends I hardly ever see, even those who live just down the street.

Mmmmm... crab legs.

Greg. No worries. If you were some asshole that were treating my friend badly, then you could be worried, but so far you're not.

And let's not even mention the fact that I have neglected Telf for stupider boys on countless occasions, something she seems to forgive me for for whatever reason, so no, I will never begrude her spending time with a nice guy. :)

And why aren't we on each others' friends lists again?

<< but so far you're not. >>

OK. I'll try to give some advance notice when I feel the urges to be insecure, manipulative, high-maintenance, etc. coming on.

<< I have neglected Telf for stupider boys on countless occasions >>

Yah, I recall in my college and just-after college years my friends and I assuring each other over and over (in that "Dude Where's My Car" kind of voice), "Women come and go but friends are forever, yah. Totally." and then then suddenly one of us would disappear for a few months...!

<< why aren't we on each others' friends lists >>

...because I hardly ever see you! ;) R-D-R-R

Makes sense though... I wind up checking tzel's friends because only two of mine ever write on a semi-regular basis. So you're in!
