the not political stuff

i love IM for surreptitious office banter. tonight there was this increibly annoying guy a few cubes over talking on the phone, and he was talking SO LOUD it was like he was standing there yelling. every time i tried to talk to one of my coworkers he'd start talking EVEN LOUDER as if i was somehow causing him trouble. coworker number one is currently being crippled by hand pain so he refuses to get on IM, so i couldn't send him goofy jokes about the yelling guy. this made me sad.

a version of the myers-briggs test/kiersey temperament sorter.

Extraverted (E) 61% Introverted (I) 39%
Intuitive (N) 68% Sensing (S) 32%
Feeling (F) 90% Thinking (T) 10%
Judging (J) 50% Perceiving (P) 50%

the extravert thing is not common for me, but the rest of it basically hasn't changed since 1997. prior to 1997, i was a staunch INTJ, extreme in all categories. when i went to college, i believe i basically had a nervous breakdown, although no one used those words at the time. forever after that i have been almost completely a 'feeler'. during that time i also swung from P to J, but i'm still not sure exactly why. i have always had a fondness for the myers-briggs test. la!

less than 2 hours until my weekend. i will be so glad to be not required to report to work for two days. this weekend promises to be very low stress. book club is on monday. rock! i have so many things to be thankful for, i feel very good about all of them. but yeah... i have been riled up the past few days, and seem to be only getting more riled. reading the autobiography of malcolm x today and i read the quote, "You will never catch me with a free fifteen minutes in which I'm not studying something I feel might be able to help the black man." it struck me. i wish i could live like that, in a way. part of me wishes that.

Intuitive (N) 68% Sensing (S) 32%
Feeling (F) 75% Thinking (T) 25%
Perceiving (P) 55% Judging (J) 45%

Wow - I've never been a P (although I'm so close, I might as well be a J). I've been INFJ since college (1994). I think it suits me pretty well.

Hmmm. I started taking this, but was putting down too many 'in betweens' so I think my dislike of personality tests is gonna keep me from finishing this one.

Yesterday when I looked at this, the original link was not working so I took another online test. On that test I got XSFJ, basically.

This result is much closer to what I usually skew:

Your personality type is ENFP.

Extraverted (E) 57% Introverted (I) 43%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Feeling (F) 95% Thinking (T) 5%
Perceiving (P) 59% Judging (J) 41%

pseudotheist were running some guesses as to what our friends would be. i know you had told me your score before but i had forgotten. i had you pegged as a severe J, because you seem to like things well planned out. see how wrong i am!!

now i need jack to take the test 'cause i took it giving the answers i thought he would give, and i want to know if i'm right. :)

Your personality type is INTP.
Introverted (I) 68% Extraverted (E) 32%
Intuitive (N) 59% Sensing (S) 41%
Thinking (T) 55% Feeling (F) 45%
Perceiving (P) 82% Judging (J) 18%

Back in mid-college I was ENFP, which I liked being. I occasionally mull over this INTP crap (ahaha its fine actually), and think that I have turned into a more boring person. I wish I had taken it during the heyday of my unemployment, and within 2 months of starting work again. The introversion thing sticks in my craw every time I take this test now, because I liked thinking of myself as an extrovert. I think it changes with my mood very readily though, which is probably an indicator that I dont really understand the test, although i don't think it would be terribly audacious to consider that the test doesn't understand me.

The T vs. F change I dont' mind, especially since it's so close, and I am a bit of a thinker.

Let me add one point about my 18% Judging. It's only 18%, so most people are in the clear, but let me tell you, that is one FIERCE 18%. Fear the 18% judging!!!

The way I always understood the I/E thing is it's not so much how social a person you are, but more where you get your energy from. You can like hanging out in groups of people, going out, having dozens of friends, but if at the end of the day you feel drained and just want to sit down and read alone or play on the computer by yourself, you fit more in the Keirsey "I" catagory. My sister read the book on this silly personality test thing, and she once mentioned that the I/E catagory is fuzzy anyways, and the least important of the four. N/S is the most important.

When I answered the test answering how I thought you would, I got:

Extraverted (E) 57% Introverted (I) 43%
Sensing (S) 55% Intuitive (N) 45%
Thinking (T) 65% Feeling (F) 35%
Perceiving (P) 82% Judging (J) 18%

I bet if we discussed the questions it would explain alot.

Re: hrm......

it's no wonder i don't have too many good conversations about My Feelings. the ones i have are pretty much irrelevant (except for horny, hungry, tired and content)

"we are the borg. you will be assimilated."

Looks like I'm still ISTJ (as posted months ago in my LJ):
Introverted (I) 68% Extraverted (E) 32%
Sensing (S) 68% Intuitive (N) 32%
Thinking (T) 65% Feeling (F) 35%
Judging (J) 55% Perceiving (P) 45%

Which is good, since my personality type dislikes change.

hey! i did a search on people interested in book clubs and your name popped up! I just wanted to let you know that I started a new reading group on yahoo. it's open genre and we should be reading some great books. suggestions always welcome for books! I just started it, so I don't have that many members, but I'm hoping to get some! If you or someone you know is interested, then let me know. I have a link in my journal to subscribe to the reading group, or you can just ask me any questions, ect. Thanks! And sorry if this annoyed you! I just got frustrated by not being able to find a decent reading group on line who read interesting books that I was interested in, and now that I've started one, I'm trying to let as many people know as possible!

thanks for dropping by... i'm not sure i'm into the online book club thing, but i will check it out.
Mar. 21st, 2003 04:39 pm (UTC)
wacky, this test gave me my first ever S, I came up ESFP (even though I was 50/50 on E and I). But I took another random online myers-briggs test (http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm) and I came up with my more normal ENFP.

Mar. 29th, 2003 04:47 pm (UTC)
I, apparently am a "XNFX" because the Extraverted/Introverted variable was indeterminate, and so was the Judging/Perceiving variable. But we figured that I was probably an "INFP," which was fine with me. So, we're both intuitive, feeling people. Nice ta meet ya.

Good luck studying to help the black man!
