it's strangely warm

waking up from fever dreams of lovecraftian tone... tossing and turning hoping to regain blissful unconciousness... getting up, getting down, drinking milk... the cat deciding he is practically surgically attached to my armpit, meaning i get many close-up vantage points to his cleaning rituals... a half-awake exploration of the post-apocalypse, and the sudden knowledge that the first place i would loot was the lenscrafters, because who the hell is going to make glasses in the post-apocalypse. realizing that somehow i have only one sock on. this means it is almost certainly time to give up on sleeping. lest nyarlathotep visit me again.

Regarding the lenscrafter thing: One of the best Twlight Zone episodes ever is pretty much on exactly that topic. :)

However, Lenscrafters doesn't have a bunch of lens lying around (I don't think) and hell if I am gonna have time after the freekin' apocalypse to figure out how to run one of those machines. Much less a bunch of my funktified prescription. Thusly, after the big kablooie, my first order of business will be... enslaving Lesncrafters employees!

Wait.

First order of business is raiding the leather goods store, since I want the hottest in post-apocalypse outerwear. *Second* is the enslaving, etc.

gear for the post-apocalypse
because there's no way that once surviving the apocalypse you could survive without leather, vinyl, and shiny-silvery-buckley things!

i mean... come on!?!

luckily lenscrafters is free from my plotting... unless i'm over 40 when it all goes down, at which point all bets are off!

Re: gear for the post-apocalypse
does that mean that people who wear cottons and linens in the post-apocalypse will be killed? 'cause frankly i plan on being cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and vinyl and leather and buckles probably won't help with that.

My thought was, hey, last time I went to the Lenscrafters they had a whole bunch of orders they were working on/finished with lined up in the back, so, I was figuring I would find something acceptable. I also have almost all my old glasses which, while not the current perscription, would do in a pinch. Heh. I thought about this ALOT.

Older Woman
So now you are someones older woman!! Wow how time flies. For the Post Apocolypse don't forget plenty of ammunition. I think that bullets will become the coin of the realm as soon as people realize money is worthless.
