If you've been hired to be pageable 24-7, please consider it part of your job not to be a flaming asshole when you are paged.
Apart from that, tonight has been fine. No one else showed up for work so I did everything myself, and the product of getting everything done yourself is, as we all know, to feel good about yourself. So, while I don't want this to happen again, it was nice for tonight. I even figured out how to get Netcool to work on Windows and I'd like to point out that goddamit, it has so much more functionality this way!!! Also a highlight was the non-asshole engineer I paged using the word "wanker" in ticket notes. You have to appreciate these simple pleasures in life.
I drove to work in the rain tonight; it sucked but when push came to shove I didn't want to leave an hour earlier just so I could take the metro. Particularly not with the temptation of listening to my fabulous JVC KDSX980 some more. JVC ought to pay me for all these plugs. I will also note that while Poulenc's Stabat Mater might be a nice thing to test it out with, it doesn't come across very well while the car is moving and it's raining. Also, I meant to buy a different Stabat Mater. And I have no idea which one. I thought Poulenc was the right composer. Drat.
Earlier today, er, yesterday, er, sunday, I slept like a baby all day long. It was solid sleep. I had just enough time to have dinner at Sapphire with Jack. We're thinking it might be nice to make it a weekly event and see if other people are interested. They have a buffet which is really nice all sunday night, apparently. Prior to dinner, though, I apparently managed to piss C off. I don't know if I pissed him off more by asking him if he wanted to come to dinner or by not explicitly saying goodbye when I logged off. Well, I knew it was only a matter of time. We didn't have time to discuss it because as noted, I was working alone which is nearly always hectic. Still am... for another 74 minutes. All that bitching and moaning and whining and crying I did about 8 hours days in 5 day weeks? I may have been a little wrong.
To-do list still not ... to-done. Poop.
