(It's so amusing to me when I know every single word and guitar break but not the actual title of the song.)

It's a Replacements song first, yes.
But I like the CTD version, too, and I probably heard that one before the Replacements original.

I hadn't heard the song more than once when it presented itself for this meme, so I can't really blame you. There is a good 20% of songs on my ipod I have listened to 0-2 times by strict play count.

#9 - George Harrison, something like "alright"?

Nope, you are thinking of a Traveling Wilburys song I think? If not, you will kick yourself.

Sep. 25th, 2008 04:22 pm (UTC)
I went and cheated and I can see why you'd say that, but the "alright" part I was thinking of is in this song - it's just not the title.
snidegrrl
Sep. 25th, 2008 04:25 pm (UTC)
There is more than one song listed where the title is in the first line. I didn't cheat and I put them up there anyways.

Also - I'm trying to do this now, with my Windows Media Player at work, and it's hilarious because I deliberately keep a ton of instrumental jazz on there. First line? Does the trumpet part count? (No, I guess not!)

Sep. 25th, 2008 04:21 pm (UTC)
There were more instrumentals in mine but I didn't even bother to write them down. Heh. Stupid jazz!

Re: traditionally, I am bad with titles
If there is anything else I can do to induce a little happy dance, let me know!!

Also, I, too, am bad with titles and was missed TWO songs by Black Sabbath on someone else's version of this even though I LOVE THOSE SONGS.

The ones I think are basically ungettable are 4, 20, 22.

The ones that probably require nerdiness or niche knowledge are 11, 13, 16, 18, 21, 25, 27, 32.

I hope I am pleasantly surprised!

Ah yes... the chorus goes "sick, sick, sick" so I just guessed that the title was "Sick," since that's usually how it goes. hee
