This post brought to you by a sudden fit of nostalgia and trying to find videos on iTunes and having no luck.

Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over
The Damned - Shadow of Love
Morrissey - Sing Your Life

I need to get these on my ipod.

Funny.. I really didn't have a lot of music video exposure in the 80s. Rarely stayed up to watch Friday Night Videos.. and then in college I had virtually no access to TV. I am curious to see what folks list!

I was always fond of INXS' The One Thing and the entire set of Pink Floyd videos from The Final Cut. And though I'm blanking on the name of it, the Tom Petty video with an Alice in Wonderland theme was right clever too. And another I'm forgetting the name of -- an REM video featuring Michael and three topless women all in harlequin pants dancing around where he got in a nice jibe at censorship by having the black bar over his nipples as well (and he still had all that glorious blond hair). There's many others I liked, but work calls now....

Don't Come Around Here No More is the Tom Petty one and it is awesome

I think it has to be Hot for Teacher:

I cite several reasons:
-The song is awesome
-The kids are awesome
-The stupid little dance that they do is so unawesome. The pink tuxedos and stupid line dance are obviously Roth's idea, and you can see the other 3 are really not that into it. I'm sure this was part of the reason for the breakup.

This is fun!

That Cars video where Ric Ocasik is miniature.

Time after Time and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

That INXS one where they are holding up the signs at the end. Argh, what song was that?!

So many of the Madonna ones...Papa Don't Preach with Danny Aiello was good.

Hmm, I may have to come back to this post...

The true classic Madonna video is Express Yourself, IMHO.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned "Thriller" yet.

Allow me to also recommend Laura Branigan's "Self Control" for awesome cheesiness.

I don't think you're a big Bjork fan, but she's got some good ones.

My memories of 80's videos is hopelessly tinged by 120 Minutes and a crazy Baltimore Saturday afternoon video show. I secretly love the video for Material Girl. And there's always Weird Al.

That's why I always list the Damned and Morrissey - they only played those videos on 120 minutes. I found so much of my favorite music on there... and I so wish I still had my VHS tapes of it.
