living space

I've never seen a home quite so perfectly fitting my imaginary dream home as this one here. (Thanks for the tip, saucy_dwellings!) The loft bed. The bookshelves organically extending from the walls. The mosaics. The peace symbol. :) It's like he pulled it right out of my head. I'm in awe.

Hee! Did I tell you we're buying a loft bed for Ruby? We got bookshelves to go under it and stuff, because the current arrangement is SO cluttered. And also because we're hoping to convince her that being up high is so great that she'll never want to sleep in our bed again.

I feel I must confess that I'm totally planning on sleeping in it myself if she continues to insist on sleeping on the futon. Heh.

I wanted a loft bed SO BADLY when I was a kid! Or at least a bunk bed, of course, my parents were convinced that getting a bunk bed was a waste for an only child. SHEEZ. So tell Ruby she is totally lucky her mom will let her sleep up high.

My girls elect to sleep in the same room (leaving the other bedroom to be a playroom). They've got bunk beds and only now are reaching an age where there is some dispute as to who should be allowed to have the upper bed...

That is awesome. Think he would build us each one? And then furnish and decorate it for us? :D

Huh. Hobbit house. I kinda like the organic flow of it.

It looks more like a fantasy set than a house - I dig the loft bed, but nothing else in the space looks *comfortable* which is something I think a house should be. There's definitely a strong use of organic materials and forms, but almost to a vertigo-inducing extreme; and all with hard surfaces. From a perspective of an artist recognizing another artist's hand in virtually every aspect of his environment, I think it's a very expressive space but could I remotely envision living in it? Nope.

Also - total lack of tech makes me sad.

I can see what you mean about the hard surfaces - there are obviously some futons and such around and some cushions on some of the chairs, and obviously the guy's medium is wood, but yeah, i can see what you mean. In terms of the organic flow of the space, however, I can't complain a bit.

If I had a space like that I would have tech, but it would be camouflaged. :)
