Mar. 4th, 2005

I am confident that there exists, somewhere, a wiki-calendar or some kind of editable web calendar that I can plop down in my web space and edit from a browser so that Jack and I can have an Outlook-esque view of our schedules that is right in damn front of us from every computer we sit in front of, since so much of our time is spent there. But I can't/haven't found it and don't really have time to build it.

So does anyone know of something like this?

I need to have no more double-bookings and overlookings and Jack and I being pulled in 7 directions. Or at least if I am going to, I want to have a visual representation that's not snuck away in a palm or in my purse.

Hey, that's pretty tempting.

I will examine this Yahoo calendar... I am skeptical of course because I want something that's MINE all mine... I was hoping for a bit of code I could just borrow, like many people borrow and maintain their own message board softwarre and stuff...

but see how many recommendations it's gotten - it may not be indie, but it still rocks.

I know a few people who swear by Yahoo! Calendar. You could get a common account (or share) and always have that handy.

See my answer above :)

Yahoo! has calendars you can set to share, although you probably have to have some kind of Yahoo! account to do so. It kept The Guest and I on track.

i shall investigate.

Which reminds me, we're still on all this weekend, right?

That's a joke, see.

I kind of liked that calendar we used to use at work.

Not that my life is interesting enough to use an online calendar. I just keep a text file in my unix account.

I honestly have no memory of this. :o

WebCal. It was cute.
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:38 pm (UTC)
cute and probably exactly what i want!! do you remember who wrote it?
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:52 pm (UTC)
no clue, but a quick google searh shows plenty of places to download it.
Mar. 4th, 2005 08:55 pm (UTC)
ohhh i thought you meant someone at work wrote it. cool thanks!!

Actually, I'm thinking I need to start self-tattooing, like the Memento guy.

I still like paper best, but then I am not trying to coordinate with another person. It's hard enough to coordinate with myself!

I still like paper best but that system is having one major, major flaw right now: a user error, in the sense that I sometimes don't write stuff in it. So the memento tattooing idea is looking better and better.

The problem of course is what to do when you run out of whitespace.... you can't turn a new page of skin. :(

I so understand what you're looking for, i went on a quest, because I wanted it to do more than calandering, I wanted it to have todos as well.

I was deeply unsatisfied with yahoo calendar and never quite found something that worked well. Sorry I can't give you better news.

I really want the palm apps online.

let me know if webcal looks any better for you. :)

We use this (http://mrbs.sourceforge.net/) at work for scheduling meetings. It works pretty well and can be edited at multiple sources by different users.

yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

I think I did it again
I made you believe we're more than just friends
Oh baby
It might seem like a crush
But it doesn't mean that I'm serious
'Cause to lose all my senses
That is just so typically me
Oh baby, baby

Oops!...I did it again
I played with your heart, got lost in the game
Oh baby, baby
Oops!...You think I'm in love
That I'm sent from above
I'm not that innocent

You see my problem is this
I'm dreaming away
Wishing that heroes, they truly exist
I cry, watching the days
Can't you see I'm a fool in so many ways
But to lose all my senses
That is just so typically me
Baby, oh

[Repeat CHORUS]

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

"All aboard"
"Britney, before you go, there's something I want you to have"
"Oh, it's beautiful, but wait a minute, isn't this...?"
"Yeah, yes it is"
"But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end"
"Well baby, I went down and got it for you"
"Oh, you shouldn't have"

Oops!...I did it again to your heart
Got lost in this game, oh baby
Oops!...You think that I'm sent from above
I'm not that innocent

is that the sing-britney-on-tuesday gauntlet being thrown?

Ha. No, but feel free!

Sunbird calendar isn't too bad. You'll need to make use of the webdav module in apache which is relatively painless to activate. Trace and I made a mostly now forgotten attempt to coordinate our schedules using it (for awhile we were using Yahoo), but in the end I'm relatively lazy and just go to her and flail about a bit saying where do I need to be at this moment.
Mar. 5th, 2005 04:19 pm (UTC)
i'm not sure i understand the whole webdav part of it. does that do the thing where it publishes the calendar as a web page?

having nothing to do with the topic at hand
Can you explain why, when I was driving home yesterday and Jethro Tull's "Bungle in the Jungle" came on, I thought of you? Do you even like that song?
Mar. 5th, 2005 04:10 pm (UTC)
Re: having nothing to do with the topic at hand
I do like that song. I don't recall ever discussing it with you though! Perhaps at some point you saw a Jethro Tull cd in my abode! Eep!
