I'm making a new meme because I'm doing tedious data entry. Which is argh stultifying. zarobi, if you read this, it is NOT YOUR FAULT. :)

Take the next ten songs that come up in random play on your mp3 list. Explain how they make you feel.

1. Pearl Jam - "Can't Find a Better Man"

Listening to this song makes me feel alternately smug and ashamed. Smug, because I'm at a point in my life where this song does not apply to me at all. Ashamed because there was a time when it did, and even then had someone played the song for me I would have thought about how it was apropos, and cried a bunch, and still stayed in my crappy relationship because I was terrified of being alone or some such crap.

2. Tom Tom Club - "Genius of Love"

This song makes me feel like driving in the summer with the windows down. It makes me want to go someplace warm.

3. ABBA - "Take a Chance on Me"

More often than not, in addition to a general feeling of happiness, ABBA makes me a bit nostalgic. Dad listened to ABBA alot in my youth. It makes me think of summers on the beach in the outer banks.

4. Richard Marx - "Hazard"

OK this just makes me admit I am a sucker for bad 80s music. And makes me sing.

5. Genesis - "More Fool Me"

This makes me think of how this whole album is better listened to in its proper order, and it makes me think of how there is a road on the way to work called Epping Forest Drive, which every morning makes me sing another song from this album.

6. Steely Dan - "Bhodhisattva"

Makes me feel zen, in a really peppy dancey kicky way.

7. Nico - "Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams"

This makes me bored, and curious as to why a few years ago I enjoyed listening to my Nico album over and over.

8. Annie sndtrk. - "Sign"

In love. With Carol Burnette. And desperate to burst into song in the middle of the office.

9. Jesus Christ Superstar - "This Jesus Must Die"

Oh crap. I'm going to get this stuck in my head and have people look at me funny when I bust into the chorus out loud in the Wawa.

10. Garth Brooks - "I've Got Friends in Low Places"

Rebellious. So many people hate country music, and I admit some of it is crap. Maybe it's geography, maybe it's in my blood (seems unlikely, with 2 yankee parents), maybe it's a weird class war thing, but I love country music. And it makes me want a beer.

Genius of Love is my favorite happy song. It is the sound of my brain when I'm hyper.

Is it possible to be sad when that song is on? I love it so.

1. The Plus Ones - Natalie Please
"So don't be mad at me.. Oh please Natalie..", makes me feel apologetic

2. New Girlfriend - Mr. T Experience
"My New girlfriend is better than you...", makes me wish that I had a new girlfriend to be better than the previous one.

3. Real Love - John Lennon(accoustic from the "Imagine" soundtrack)
John Lennon songs always make me feel a little sad that his career and life were cut so unnessacarily short.

4. Surf Goddess - The Queers
Makes me nostalgic. I bought this 7" and gave it to this girl I liked in college. Predictably, nothing ever happened.

5. Dropout Girl - The Mushuganas
Makes me feel a little proud of taking the time to actually record and encode a lot of my 7" records.

6. Method Man - The Wu-Tang Clan
A little uneasy with all the torture scenarios in the begining. Like maybe Alberto Gonzales shouldn't be allowed to listen to this record and get any ideas.

7. Revolution - The Beatles
Makes me miss karaoke a bit. I thought I did OK at this one, complete with chaning "Chairman Mao" to "President Bush" and all.

8. Class Dismissed - The Hi-Fives
Excited, the chord changes in the chorus are just awesome. I wish I knew the magic chord change formula to make a song exciting to me, but this would be a text book case if I ever tried to figure it out.

9. Armitage Shanks - Green Day
A little guilty for liking Green Day. Sorry Kim.

10. Sister Ray - The Velvet Underground
Tired after listening to all 17+ minutes of awesomeness.
