Amazon will never have me back. I have not spent a penny there since they sent me email saying they'd changed their privacy policy and would now be sharing the information they collected from me under a policy stating they would not. It didn't say, "We'll be sharing your information regarding transatcions/etc from this day forward," it said, "We're now sharing the info we collected having told you we wouldn't share." That's um, lying, and they will never ever get another penny from me, though they will get this speech from me whenever their name comes up, forever or as long as I live.

I left out that I called on the telephone for clarification, because I couldn't believe it, and was assured by a human spokeperson that I was indeed correctly interpreting the notice.

What do they mean by "your information" exactly...? If you don't want to take the time to answer this I fully understand.

Email and physical address, buying history, etc. The demographic and marketing info - the stuff they use to target ads and make suggestions.

Ahh that stuff. Ehn, doesn't bother me that much. If they were telling people my credit card number then I'd have a problem. :)

Often, I buy from places where the privacy policy is similar to the current one at Amazon - it's just the deceit that turned me off to Amazon. If they had said they were going to share that kind of info, collected from the date of the notice going forward, I'd have been all, "darn oh well" and I'd still buy from them when they had the best price.
